Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

Picked up 2.5" last night, which outs our seasonal total up to 71"! Sun is out now and our snow depth is 11". Current temp 23 low of 16. The March sun has formed some GIANT icicles on my house the last few days, I can't even capture it all in one frame! Measured one 4'11" long!

New WRF is bullish for your area as well.  '

Randy... the snow shown on this map for you already happened.   :(

Coming down good here but too warm to do much in the way of accumulation.  We've gone full snowglobe up here at my house but haven't really added anything from my post around daybreak

12Z NAM shows a decent snow event in places tonight... might be a Jim special to end this current pattern.

I would like to get some accumulation this year. The longer I live at 25feet elevation the more pessimistic I become about snow events. I need serious cold for snow.

Being at sea level vs 200ft makes all the difference in the world. I guess it doesn’t help that we live in the central puget sound snow dome

Is it seeing some kind of outflow upslope event? Otherwise there is zero chance of this. Where is this magical moisture coming from?

This is still 4 inches. Most models are showing some kind of moisture on me tonight, I just dont understand the dynamics making it happen.

Easy, you want to look at the wind at 850mb, over the last few days it has been ripping from the west and sw, tonight it switches from the north and north west so you will have upslope.

We come from the land of the ice and snow.

A little mesoscale low spins over the olympics later today.  Some deformation on the north side and little northerly flow tonight as the low departs.  No idea if it’s going to verify but you could see something later today.  WRF is usually a little to generous with precip amounts in these setups IMO.

Ran up to the area just to the east of my house and 200’ above my elevation and it looks like about 6”. Only about 2” here at work which is 200’ under my elevation. Being sandwiched in the middle of those two locations (both under a mile from my house) I got 4” so that makes sense.

The magic elevation around the sound is 1200ft. If you had a place at 1200 near the foothills you would have massive snowy winters.

That’s why I would LOVE to have a place out at Lake Cavanaugh!! It’s about 20 or so minutes east of me and just over 1,000’. They probably have over a foot up there right now. Whenever i just get missed due to elevation I run up there for my snow fix!
