Mt Si has more snow on it this morning than most of the days in the winter.    Birds start singing at 4:45 a.m. and its light out until 9:30 p.m. and we still have typical winter weather.   Time for something different.  👍

Gotta start baking those forests dry sometime soon else how are we supposed to have a decent smoke season?

Had a low of 39.

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

Absolutely.

The 2014-present summer pattern has gotten incredibly stale.

That would be a typical update from you on December 7th as opposed to May 7th... straight up early December climo.  😃

Every storm we encountered was at nightfall and we didn’t dare go out in it. It was crazy to see these chasers doing just that! Reed Timmer is just insane 😱

Great run, much less consistently troughy for Alaska when we're up there. The storms that move through are worse, but the good days are much better than the other runs, a worthit price to pay.

Looking like it won’t be that much hotter down in Las Vegas and Utah than it will be up here later this week and this weekend. Figured when I booked the trip it’d probably end up being much warmer down there than it would be at home.

My guess is you should be able to see some nice cactus flowers in the lower Sonoran zone around Vegas and St. George.

Looks like its about to balanced out at least a little.

This will end up being the coldest first week of May in quite awhile for parts of the Willamette Valley. 2022 and 2012 were also both quite cold, but it looks like 2024 may top them at some locations.

A summer similar to 2012 would at this stage be most welcome.

CZ made it down to West Seattle after midnight, 0.15” in the bucket for a total of 0.36” for the month. Better than Sea-Tac though!

Plus this upcoming warm spell doesn’t look too serious. Perfect for getting the garden planted!

Just 0.02” of rain on the month here. 🌵

GFS and CMC are both onboard with no second round of ridging and a nice clipper days 9-10.

Last night's Euro still didn't budge...
