Is that the only year?

Didn’t 1965/66 and 1997/98 have something?

There was a dry arctic blast in Dec 2009 IIRC, which was also a strong El Niño winter.

Great Falls is a cool place to move, as well. More climatologically dynamic than Boulder too. Maybe not as scenic though.

IF Winter is over, and by mid-March we're done with any cold air, mountain snow, bring on Summer. Actually if we didn't have any drought concerns or concerns about a horrid fire season I would say IF we're done with Winter as of 12:08 AM, let's go right into the 70s starting February 20th. C'MON!!!!

Absolutely. Colorado is in a goldilocks zone in the summertime as well - gets epic thunderstorms just like the East Coast, but without any of the nasty humidity.

Lol interesting must have been a lot of warm rain lol.

Figured the elevated precipitation over the last two months would have helped.

That’s debatable. Spend a summer here and see if you still believe what you espouse.

Seldom drops below 70°F at night from late June to mid-August.

I'm still toying with the idea of Northern Coastal New England, and I think they cool off pretty well even in the summer.

Also significantly fewer bugs in CO. I don’t know if you’ve been to the east coast in mid/late summer but it’s really loud all night from mid-July to late August.

Speaking of which, this is the summer those 17 year brood x cicadas return. Last swarm was 2004 when I was 12 years old but I remember it like it was yesterday.

Bozeman requires your own personal mint to move there any more.  My wife and I have been looking at it, and home prices there make the real estate market here look pretty tame...

Yeah up there especially coastal Maine/New Hampshire is very different. Lots of evergreens like PNW with cool/foggy summers. Winters, on the other hand..

Yeah that’s part of the reason it’s looking unlikely I go to MSU. Even though I got WUE which is a $56k grant over four years it’s still more expensive than OSU because housing is expensive there. Also, I can visit back home much easier if I’m a 1.5 hour drive from home than a 12 hour drive from home.

I am of the mind that if one is unhappy where they are at, they will be unhappy wherever they move. Moving to find happiness is merely running away from your problems. They will eventually catch up.

Lakeview is still a 45 mile drive away from Paisley. Gonna take a while if it snows.

Lake County is massive. And very empty. Population density 1/5 of that of Mongolia, lower than the state of Western Australia.

We arrived in Leavenworth late Wednesday night in the midst of back to back significant snowfalls. I have recently come to terms with my feelings about the climate in the western lowlands, and I really, really, really want to be east of the cascades... as i’ve gotten older, the rain.... the lack of sunshine has basically caused me to give up.....

the importance of sunshine has grown on me so much. With 3 kids now, we find it absolutely vital to be outside A LOT, and we just can’t enjoy the outdoors in the western lowlands most of the year. Dry and 25, we’re out in it! Wet and 37, give me a couch a blanket and the weather channel.

On Labor Day weekend 2018 I stopped at the Adel general store on Rt 140. The girl working there was very pretty and quite laden with child. Her finger bore no ring, and my mind wandered toward what sort of man the father may be in that lonesome country. Or if he was just someone passing through. What kind of upbringing will that child have in such a forsaken land. It was strange and fleeting daydream, but it has remained in the conscious recesses of my memory.
