Niko
Looks like severe weather could become a threat in my area, but as of now, it does not look too impressive. We will see. Today's weather looks to be Sunny N Hot w temps near 90F, maybe a bit higher. No records are expected though. Nice cooldown coming, once this cf rolls on through w/ highs in the 60s on Thursday and lows in the 40s, for a couple of nites down the road. Mainly 70s for highs thereafter and lows in the 50s w/ loads of sunshine. 2 Quote Snowfall for Winter 2022 -23 for Metro Detroit Area Oct'22: Trace / Normal is 0.0" Nov'22: 2.5" Below Average /Normal is 2.9" Dec'22: 5.0" Below Average / Normal is 8.5" Jan'23: 11.2" Below Average / Normal is 14.3" Feb '23: 2.2" Well Below Average / Normal is 18.4" March '23: 16.1" Above Average / Normal is 5.0" (Season is @ 37.0")
Hawkeye
As models predicted, two rounds of storms both crapped out before reaching my area overnight. All I ended up with is light rain totaling 0.09". My May total will finish at only 2.63", more than 1.50" below average. There were zero thunderstorms the entire month. Clinton
Round 1 produced big rainfall totals around KC but only .5 inches fell at my house. More soggy weather ahead tonight and tomorrow. @NWSKansasCity The 2.84" of precipitation that KC has received thus far today, ranks as tied for the 11th most for any day in May on the 134-year record. We may not be done as another 1/4 to 1/2 inch of rain may be possible again this evening.
Phil
DCA hit 96°F today. Low dews and residual cool waters are helping maintain the “spring feel” in the air, but that probably won’t last much longer. I’d be satisfied if the swamp weather holds off until the summer solstice. June can still deliver nice weather with lows in the 60s if the pattern is right. OmahaSnowFan
So this past weekend I went chasing and took my 10 year old daughter with me for the first time. She’s hooked! We ended up seeing softball sized hail on Sunday in the Sandhills of Nebraska on a tornado warned storm, and on Monday chased in South Dakota and Minnesota where we saw a funnel cloud west of Brookings and then in Minnesota nearly had a tornado form on top of us! We were on the front edge of the storms and noticed a strong area of rotation directly above us as we raced east. The storms were moving at 60-70 mph so it was hard to get ahead of them quickly. Soon I noticed a funnel coming down and a short time later had intense inflow suddenly form. Ahead of us we saw a large part of a tree get ripped off. Even crazier, a short time later my daughter said it felt like her ears had to pop, which is a sign of a tornado passing very close! I’m working on a video yet, but here’s some pictures. 5

But this spring she's started asking more questions and wondering every time it storms here if it's going to be a "big storm" because she wants to see one, so I figured I would take her along on this last trip! Andie
Strong Storms moved across DFW. Rainfall totals varied quit abit across 3 counties. We saw 1” in West Ft Worth while east toward Dallas saw 2.25”, falling for an hr, maybe less. . I haven’t seen rainfall like that in years. Sheets of rain you couldn’t see through that went on without pause. Really impressive. East Ft Worth was under a tornado watch. Luckily no hail has been reported that I’ve heard or read yet. That was the kind of storm we usually see in early May. 2 Quote Before You Diagnose Yourself With Depression or Low Self-Esteem,...First Make Sure You Are Not In Fact, Just Surrounded By A$$holes. 2018 Rainfall - 62.65" High Temp. - 110.03* Low Temp. - 8.4*
