Yeah all of the vegetation is really lush right now.

It’s really not uncommon for it to be lush up here. Even our driest years we have well over 50” of precip. But by this time the last few years things were starting to get really bleak in the valley.

Our vegetation has been taking a lot of damage. A large tree near my house fell down last November. It probably was already stressed from the ice storm in February, really dry spring/summer and the heat wave.

Not raining here.   In fact the sun is out.   Somehow the vegetation is still very green and alive.

Usually we're still holding onto some of that in mid June, but things are quickly browning up as we round into July. Not going to be the case this year. It's as green now as I've ever seen it around here.

Glad the weather is so much better down here this weekend. Radar lighting up like a Christmas tree, 57F and up to 0.35 on the day.

We know we are a week or two away from our annual 2-3 month dry spell. No need to fret.

We are truly blessed to live in such close proximity to so many different climates and geographic settings. For instance, our typical winter weather becomes so much more tolerable when we can just drive an hour and a half and be in winter wonderland including some of the snowiest places on the face of the planet.

On a personal note I finally feel ready to share some very sad news I got a week ago.  One of my best friends, who I have known for 40 years, committed suicide last weekend.  He just up and disappeared, and two days later his wife received word he had shot himself at a hospital parking lot in Boise.

Just so totally out of character.  Even when he disappeared I feared the worst, because even that was such an extreme thing for him.  His wife thinks some of it has to do with the pandemic and extreme unrest the country is suffering right now.

It's been a very rough week for his friends, family, and myself.  It took me a week to even be able to post it here.

I am so sorry Jim… Noone should have to go through losing a friend in that manner.

Looks really nice. I would definitely love to be doing some yardwork too. But this is my wife's weekend to work, so I don't think it would be smart to drag the baby outside in these conditions. Though it did start raining when we went fishing the other night.

To say we're in decent shape is an understatement.  Fire danger is still officially low in Central WA and the reservoirs are brimming full with a lot of snow still on the peaks.

No doubt.   It does not take one of the wettest springs in history to just be OK or it will never be OK.  We would also be in decent shape with normal weather.     Different story farther south of course.    They needed this.
