Nice tint of green on the hills. Must be pretty rare for mid June around there?

Yeah quite green and the Columbia has that freshly melted snow color to it…I’m sure it’s nice an chilly! Anyway the hills were still pretty green back in 2019 around this time as well, not so much last year though.

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

Likewise, I’m taking advantage of our last sub-80°F afternoon to do some long overdue clean-up/landscaping.

On a personal note I finally feel ready to share some very sad news I got a week ago.  One of my best friends, who I have known for 40 years, committed suicide last weekend.  He just up and disappeared, and two days later his wife received word he had shot himself at a hospital parking lot in Boise.

Just so totally out of character.  Even when he disappeared I feared the worst, because even that was such an extreme thing for him.  His wife thinks some of it has to do with the pandemic and extreme unrest the country is suffering right now.

It's been a very rough week for his friends, family, and myself.  It took me a week to even be able to post it here.

I’m sorry man. That’s really messed up. Sending prayers.

GFS shows we turn dry on Wednesday and go almost a week without rain.  That seems completely logical based on the last 2.5 months.    We can do a dry week in January or February in most years.

But I have zero expectation that will be correct.   The ECMWF shows rain on 9 of the next 10 days.

2019 was also pretty wet... Definitely could have been very green that year too.

This was from my FB memories from this date in 2019, almost looked even more green that year than today!

We are truly blessed to live in such close proximity to so many different climates and geographic settings. For instance, our typical winter weather becomes so much more tolerable when we can just drive an hour and a half and be in winter wonderland including some of the snowiest places on the face of the planet.

Even during the heat dome last year the coast remained a safe haven. Even some of the beaches along the sound remained comfortably warm instead of in the furnace.

It’s raining again. Cooler air starts filtering in tonight, no more mid 50s lows for a bit.

I’ve had to cut my grass so many more times this year with all the rain. That only increases my contribution to the “climate crisis” firing up the gas mower.

Learned this new phrase a week ago. Global warming no more. Now it’s Climate Crisis.

Is it gonna rain soon? Been dry all day D**n it. We need more rain.😂👌

Lol, “a small part of the world”. Still, there is really no debate the world is warming up. We’re not immune to it things have warmed up overall just look at the averages now compared to 1981-2010.

Hell, maybe the forest fires start a month later this year?

I don't know but I doubt what we are going through now will have much affect on anything.  Living through a historical moment.

Let it rain man.  Let's break some D**n records so I can tell my grandkids some day about that one spring where it rained for three straight months.  Weeeeeeeeee!

Didn't eat out on the deck, but did enjoy some nice conversation in the afternoon sun. Feels like summer out there, since it's so warm despite the stratocumulus drifting about.

Sorry to say... but that sounds nice right about now.

Also... if the climate is really warming then this spring is just a blip and doesn't change our trajectory.    Or even slow it down much.
