Amazing storm in Bend today. Over .5-.75” across a lot of town. Near quarter size hail, tons of CG, and even hail fog. Going on almost two hours of hearing thunder.
I’m actually surprised by this warning last night. The area seemed like it was stable due to the rain earlier in the day and the last line of storms pushed through and i guess a pocket of untapped energy was available and we had warnings from Lawrence all the way to downtown kc.
just shows that if there is enough dynamics then anything can spin up!
Ahhh... be careful about making spring declarations because of a wet pattern in the first half of March. This could easily flip to dry the rest of the spring. It wouldn't surprise me at all. Last March was quite wet as well.
Side note it doesn't have to rain every day in early March to keep the ground wet.
