Hey y’all. I’m down to host a bbq at my house on August 13th if we want to do a meet up. Just testing the interest level.

Looks like Jesse is out. Perhaps your wife can drive you up in her Mazda, we will have all of our snow shovels lined up in the driveway for her plow over, got to keep this epic stretch of winter weather going!!

Lol. I’ll be in GA. :(  If I was visiting like past summers I’d be down 100% though.

Maybe next summer? Should be there late July/early August.

Probably a safer play. I think Jesse would ditch me at our exit 72 potty/Fresca stop.

Going there in November!

I love it up there. Have stayed in Cashiers/Highlands several summers and it’s like another world. Will be in the 60s/70s while it’s in the 90s down on the piedmont.

Was also there in Jan 2021 and it was awesome. Snowed like five times in 8 days totaling 18”, half of it just from orographic lifting.

Boone, NC area actually seems like a pretty nice climate. Warm but not crazy hot summers with a bit less humidity. Fair amount of snow.

Also get excellent thunderstorms up in the mountains. Terrain circulations break the cap and boom.

Also, if we could do it mid day or earlier would be better. I forgot my wife is going to the simple plan/sum 41 concert that night so I’ve gotta be home by like 5 or so 😬😬

Really? Where in GA?

Back to my old stomping grounds on the north side of Atlanta (Alpharetta/Roswell.)  I'm glad to have my family all back in the northern part of the state.  My mom finally moved back up a few years ago after living in S. Ga for about 10-15 years.  All of our family lives up there, and I never got to see them when she lived down south, as I would fly into either Albany or Tallahassee.

You going to the coast?

Nice!  I've never been there and am looking forward to it.  Sounds like a really awesome place!  One of my best friends from high school has a restaurant there, and his brother has a brew-pub.  He has been busting my chops about coming to see him, so I'm glad to finally make it happen.  I'll have my kids with me, so I'll be able to show some of the sights in the N. Ga Mountains along the way.

Based on what happened when you went to Hawaii in April... I assume this means a November 1985 repeat is coming up.

Does afternoon work for everybody or is there a preference?

Early afternoon works best for me. Like 1 or so. I’ll bring salad. We’re grown ups now we can do better than veggie platters lol

I know you’ll all be totes bummed, but I can’t make your PS-centric party either. I thought about sending Phillip Seymour-Hoffman as my proxy but it turns out he’s dead.☹️ Hope everyone has a marvy time!

Who's that in your avatar?

Maybe you should send Cliff Mass.
