Based on the radar... it looks like its dumping rain down there and in Seattle.    Really unfortunate we could not score a significant rain event from all this monsoonal moisture.    It will all be pushed off to the east by later this afternoon.

Just raining lightly. Just heard some thunder though. Wasn’t expecting that.

Wouldn’t be surprised if some of these cells to the south and SW produced some more lightning. We did manage a low of 64 this morning though still raining.

Finally have some lift now with that ULL rotating through offshore... looks like there is lots of development to the south as well.

The sound of lightning is thunder.

Lightning emits more than visible light; it emits radio waves as well. The sound Mossman is hearing is the sound his radio receiver makes when it receives those waves. Has to be on the AM band because the waves have a huge bandwidth and thus do not have any frequency component in the receiver bandpass, only an amplitude one.

It's called clown range for a reason.

Very nice morning.  This is a pleasant surprise. Looks like more moisture is popping up down South also with some stronger showers showing up.  I hope it keeps going a while. I am liking that the moisture is forming farther West than earlier.  It looked it was over and had gone East for a while.

65 here currently.  House wide open.

Picked up 0.09” this morning. Up to 0.21” for august and we also broke a 9 day dry streak. Very nice surprise should be some more rain here soon.

Nice!

Way more rain this month than out here.

Was talking to IBRChris yesterday about where are averages our headed. He thinks SLE could average around 90 for a daytime high in July/August by the end of the century. Makes sense, their daily averages should peak around 87-88 for the 2001-2030 period. We are basically seeing what our climate would look like with no marine influence in the summer.

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

We only hit 79 yesterday and it drizzled almost the entire day. The low of 66 was close to if not one of the warmest in the modern era for our location.

June is not part of summer?
