I think most in the area will end up between 3 and 5 inches, which is a bit higher than they predicted yesterday afternoon, but about what they were predicting by evening.

Been snowing here 5+ hours now, looks like around 4.5 in the gauge but wont know till I get out and level it up..slanted in a pretty tall column to one side.

Some real heavy returns pivoting across NE IL right now...probably the heaviest returns thus far the storm has produced.

Well I am going to bust high on my call. It just took too long for the heavy snow to get going and the speed of the system hurt the duration. Still a nice snowfall none-the-less.

Its absolutely rippin' outside right now...I would guess 75-100 yd visibility.  Flakes are pouring out of the sky like a thunderstorm.

@ 2:35 i measured 2.5 inches. Then an hour later @ 3:35 I had 4.2 inches. That makes 1.7 inches an hour!   Within that hour I definitely had the heaviest snow this year, it was crazy, I could barely see 5 houses down.

Great to see the snow fall during the day. Officially 5in in St. Charles and I would say the same here. An incredible winter overall. something we will remember for a long time. Just hope the rain isn't as heavy as it may be on Thursday. I can do without the flooding

Snow now is light. Plows should be able to get most of the main roads clear before I head out.

So far 3.75", maybe pick up another 0.5" with the last band.  Overall, I would say I'm pleased with the outcome even though we didn't really see those heavy snow fall rates for a longer period of time.  Can't complain since 3 days ago forecasts were calling for mix/rain so any added snow today is a bonus.

Really surprised actually recieved 5-6" here, however the snow plow driver destroyed multiple mail boxes while he was plowing today.
