Seriously, what's the problem at NWS Seattle this week? Understaffing? A lot of what's happened is not their fault (just super difficult forecasts), but there have been some noticeable errors as well.

Often times with our hive mind we are a great forecasting team. Tons of knowledge here for a lot of us predicting and watching this stuff has been a hobby for years.

It’s turned into a light rain but not after burst of around 2 inches of snow, I’ll take it. I wonder if it’ll freeze enough tonight to help preserve the snow.

Weather channel can be a joke sometimes... ra/sn through 7pm my a**. And their subscription mainly just gives you more days of hourly weather, which is so utterly useless it's honestly comical. Making people think that they're getting accurate information about hourly weather *192 HOURS* out is just a pure scam. We can't even accurately say the general daily weather that far out.

Why on earth would anyone pay to subscribe to the weather channel.

I feel like a bunch of the current staff just crunches numbers and aren't using past experiences,  current trends, live satellite and radar loops or digging into the past and comparing to other events to create a forecast. One major difference is we have a ton of passion for weather and it feels like some of them do not. Some of it is just a lazy forecast imo. Some of the older guys from the 80's and 90's really knew there stuff. Including Jaya.

Yeah I hit as low as 32.5F but only during the heaviest precip. Still 32.9F now but the precip will probably run out before it accumulates much more. 

I think if this happened overnight it would have still worked for us even with this mediocre airmass.

And it gives you 15-minute forecast intervals up to 7 hours. I can't remember the last time TWC accurately predicted the weather I would have 45 minutes out. Seriously shameful and deceptive features that take advantage of people who don't know much about the weather.

We each know our own microclimate.  That is a very big deal in this game.
