I’m glad to see the 12z GFS reversed the trend of totally deballing the middle part of the troughy period. The weekend looks cooler and wetter now.

The WRF  has been showing a snow event here now for days. I guess it could happen at night if we get heavy precip.

Crazy, maybe Phil’s early April ridging won’t work out. He did allude to the fact that the large scale pattern shift to -NAO might work against it.

I still think it will happen, even if it’s shorter lived and/or centered a bit farther west thanks to the low height moat surrounding the anticyclone.

 

Having any kind of downstream blocking does work against western ridging, though. That much is true.

 

And anything is better than a supermassive black hole over Greenland/NE Canada, since that actively promotes western ridging.

It’s been nice to see the models trend a little cooler and wetter with this trough at the last minute. At least for down here.
