Can see plenty of snowflakes mixed with the rain looking under the streetlight.

Coldest until Dec 2020.

Dude you should consider doing what luvsnow is doing and what Snow_wizard will inevitably end up doing.....moving east! 90% of your posts are just you lamenting the weather at your location. I'm not sure what you do for work, but eastern Oregon gets routine epic cold snaps with some snow thrown in here and there... maybe theres a possibility you could move east and still earn a decent living?  :)

That was quick. Another dusting at least.

Cold heavy rain in Everett.

Kinda surprised it isn't a mix there especially up by Paine Field.

Plenty of towns in the Cascades get feet of snow every year.

Down to 35. 8 here now with only a light mix falling.  If the intensity picks up again it should go to straight snow.  Decently cold air mass.

Yup.  I am done with the lamenting of what others get.  It's way too painful and does no good.  I just totally ignore it when other people are getting hit.  You are correct that I will eventually get out of here.  I've gotten to the point where I get into a mild but persistent depression in the winter now.

I'm getting pretty intrigued by the CFS.  Many of the recent runs are showing a dramatic / explosive invasion of cold air later in the month after a period of near nationwide warmth.

Sounds like the biggest outage in Vancouver, pretty much the heart of the city, was kind of a fluke when one of the breakers at a substation failed to trip for some reason.

It's 38 degrees and raining in Sandy at 1000ft right now. I'm not expecting anything tonight.

Looks like a vort max is spinning around the King / Pierce County line.  That could produce some interesting dynamics for the Central Puget Sound.  Some areas are showing as all snow now on the radar.

Yeah...it's not only the lack of cold and snow, but the horrible gloom.  It just gets to me way more than it used to.  I need a more continental climate.

Being depressed about the weather is no good. I feel your pain. Large part of the reason why my wife and I moved to eastern wa. We both wanted four true seasons, particularly summer. I love the snow & cold, no doubt, but we were both utterly and completely sick of unpredictable summers. I love both ends of the weather spectrum.

The older I get the more the gloom gets to me. I love rain and don't mind it in spring and summer, but in the winter, especially the warm frontal drizzle fests get old. I had rain 22 of the last 23 days in December and still finished the month below average...

Super weak @ like maybe 2". Its been a bizarre winter so far. Started late, snows like 3" then melts and gets cold for a week, snows another 1-2"...sticks around for a few days, 1/2 of it melts away and then it gets cold again for a while then wash rinse repeat.

Unlike the last few winters....where the first snow marks the beginning of snowpack until melt off. Winter of 16'-17' was truly epic for us here. No kidding, there was nearly 30" of snowpack in our front yard before it began to melt away in March. I've never seen anything like it in my life, except in the mountains.

February is gonna be pretty stupid. The upstream surf zone looks to continue to gradually amplify for at least the next 4-5 weeks.

By the middle of the month, we’ll be in a narrow z-cell regime with a strong -NAM and equarorward STJ with the possibility of a secondary block over Alaska. Fun times.
