My brother on the Southern Oregon Coast can get snow easier than PDX.

.01 in total precip in the last 30 hours at this point. NAM and HRRR are backing off on the deformation band hitting here much as well. If I didn't have access to all these tools, I might have no idea that there was actually anything going on nearby. Complete non event to the point of getting not even rain. Kind of fascinating that the low is tracking perfectly such that it unfolds like this.

As for the late week thing...the ECMWF had a really nice outcome with that on the 0z.  Not sure why some people are bummed about it.

How much longer you think it will snow in King County?

 

Because the temps are so cold this surpasses anything in recent memory.

Maybe a few hours of decent snowfall and then a few hours of flurries after that.  It's amazing how the moisture feed stalled over Puget Sound even as the trajectory angle changed.  We really got lucky.  Up there with how lucky we got on the Christmas snow last winter.

It's portland's turn now! I still think the deformation band might get rotated out of the basin over Pdx before dying later today/tomorrow.

Really hard to say how much snow we have.  The winds picked up causing blowing and drifting snow--blew the snow off many of the homes around me too.

 

When I went to bed last night, I had about 3 inches--I would estimate a total of 4.5 inches--but again that's hard to say.  The blowing and drifting began while I was in my slumber--after 2 am.

 

On another note, I'm taking my first snow day in more than a decade!!!!  Looks like another snow day possibility later in the week!
