Rained on Bainbridge Island. Did not go out and see if it was slushy rain or not. Got some wet flurries this morning.

For some reason the GFS and WRF are just as blind as a bat to all of the moisture streaming in here tonight.  I have no idea why it performs so poorly in these cases.

It has been poor in a lot of cases.  It is still quite good at spitting out precip amounts within 12 hours of an event happening though.  Far superior to the GFS in those cases.

00Z ECMWF still shows some snow tonight and tomorrow morning but I don't see much of anything streaming in on the SEA or the coastal radar.

Monday afternoon... this is a big shift to the south and east from the 12Z run.

The EURO shows 6-8" falling here tonight...Color me skeptical...

I would say 80% of the time things trend north within 24-36 hours. I like where we are sitting right now.

waiting for tomorrow morning's euro to push the low into an astoria southward landfall which would lead to good snow for both SEA and PDX, an astoria landfall would be good snow for SEA, bad for PDX snowfans

00z euro has the low making landfall right at cape blanco early monday morning

The ECMWF is showing substantial amounts of moisture for south King and Pierce Counties over the next 24 hours.   A decent amount of it is shown as snow.  The million dollar question is will it be able to remain snow during the warmest daytime hours tomorrow.  850mb temps suggest it's quite possible.

Yep, the trough is suppressing the whole pattern holding energy south, very obvious.

That is what everyone wished for, seems to have screwed PDX though.

The models always seem to underestimate the amount of moisture with systems coming up from the south. I'm not worried for PDX.

If the EURO is right and we get 2 inches in in parts of King County I will be impressed. Pretty skeptical though right now.
