Front Ranger
The second half of this month is gonna screw up what had to this point been a historically dry year many places. 2019 is currently the second driest year on record at OLM, after 1944. Now it will almost certainly drop to #3 by this weekend, and could easily get knocked out of the top 5 by end of the month. For PDX, 2019 is currently the #1 driest year, just barely ahead of 1985. But it too could easily be out of the top 5 ten days from now. SEA will probably be out of the top 5 by end of the weekend. Quote A forum for the end of the world. Brian_in_Leavenworth
Well, sorry I offended you with a question. My mistake.I wasn't offended, but I do like pointing people to these maps. I think they enjoy seeing the maps for themselves and checking the different parameters. I also like to go to the UW WRF/GFS page, as it takes the GFS data and applies it to the terrain of the PNW for what they hope is a more accurate forecast map. Many parameters there has Oregon, Idaho and Washington. https://a.atmos.washington.edu/wrfrt/extendedgfsinit.html I find there is pretty good accuracy within a few days for precip and snow totals, especially in my area which is hard to forecast given the terrain gradients here.
