Hey Randy (Mossman), 3.5 inches of overnight snow in Leavenworth, maybe another 6+ this afternoon/evening.  But of course rain for tomorrow, hopefully it will be on the light side, and if we get enough snow, it won't all mellt.  But be careful on the pass though, it will probably be horrible and would not be surprised if it temporarily closes for avalanche control.  Keep up to date with the WSDOT app.

Ouch, 12z really cuts the heavy rainfall off from Portland south.

Heaviest amounts yet for northern Coast Range, though...it's very close to impacting Portland still.

Yeah, the totals at PDX are probably going to be unimpressive. Slightly too far southeast of the main band.

Someone here posted earlier about salmon dying in the Wilson and Trask Rivers. The salmon were dying of a parasite while waiting for the rivers to rise. The local theory is that the parasite was from cow manure, which wasn't being flushed out.

The expected coastal flooding will further hurt the run, as many of the salmon eggs will be buried under silt.

Oh wow, I didn't know that. So some rain would be good but not too much?

Oh man. Someone Is going to be unhappy.

Nah, I was expecting it. Maybe it’ll be breezy later if I’m lucky.

At best maybe a half inch of slush fell out of this since I last posted.

Wet snow isn't very reliable unless under the right conditions. It may as well have been 45 degree rain out of the AR  ;)

Could be a situation where Scappoose sees twice as much as Portland.

Or the band could sag a bit further south and most of Portland gets 3-4".

Looks similar to 2/12 (minus the huge snowstorm in the Sound).

That was our last significant rain event and Scappoose picked up 1.73" while PDX had 0.73" that day. Not their year for baroclinic bands.

Nature is Brutal!!!

So many variables in the cycle of life of course short term for the salmon eggs a huge blow on these rivers and creeks but time will heal as long as we don’t mess it up.

Yeah boy was he dead wrong.

Its a lock... according to the super exclusive and secretive models that the NWS has access to and we don't even know exist.   And they usually like to put out teasers and have information spread via social media when they see a big event coming.

5” of rain Seattle to Olympia with this event (12z euro). That’s pretty respectable.

3.2” shown for pdx.

Hopefully I am somewhat shadowed still.
