December 2019 Weather Discussion for the PNW

I can think of about 4 good January events in my 43yrs of life. Many more for November, December, February, and even March.

 

November here has probably the worst chances for snow events. I know it may differ for others. Many times I can get that entire month's normal

in a single morning or two. There are less instances locally of Thanksgiving snowstorms than in mid January.

I do think that late February and early March will deliver again this season. No reason to think January will deliver...It simply doesn’t anymore.

Too late for me, after mid-late February I'm ready for warm/hot anomalies.

That's pretty normal for the PNW anymore. A Jan 1950 or Jan 1969 will never happen again in our lifetimes.

Compared to... expectations? Models haven't been showing a ton of rain for your area...lot more from SLE north. And of course even more north of Longview.

Appreciable rain isn’t even supposed to start until early Thursday. Biggest totals are definitely SLE-Tacoma, mostly Vancouver-Olympia.
