Starting to cloud up now over Seattle. Maybe something is trying form.

Radar is trying to fill in towards Seattle.

The NAM is looking bit more like the Euro on showing some snow south of Seattle Monday evening through early Wednesday. The first feature is the low tracking across NW OR Monday evening and then a small disturbance that tracks inland over SW WA for Tuesday night. This is looking like a solid prospect for snow in areas that don't do as well tonight.

Cyclical nature of our normal cold and snowy patterns. Everyone gets in on it eventually. I hope that is the case again and we also see a huge overrunning event, been awhile since we have seen one of those.

Only time it does ok is when temps are not marginally cold in a overrunning event.

The really good news is 850mb winds are supposed to become much more northerly later in the night.  That will really help drive things south.

The WRF was ridiculous on this.  It showed the c-zone blowing south and everything being done by midnight.  Then the NAM MM5 is almost always too warm with these.

There's definitely a boundary sinking south on radar, also if you look on infrared there is some counterclockwise circulation in the north sound it's probably just do to the convergence of winds but obviously there is still a lot more upward motion in the vicinity.

Jaya almost up to 4 inches now. Says 1.5 inch per hour rates there. Nice to see for folks up there.

 

Radar has a slightly more promising look. Have a feeling Tacoma/Federal Way/Kent/Maple Valley might be too far north for the SW WA precip and too far south for the CZ.

 

But, as Jim said, it should reach here eventually.

Band looks to be falling apart. Not impressed.
