Dang heavy snow

About 8" here

based on mping reports, it looks like it isn't taking too long for the snow to overcome the dry air.  Already snow reported east of Des Moines even though radar returns haven't been showing up for very long there.

Wow, it is absolutely ripping down snow in my backyard in Southwest Omaha right now. Low visibility with fatties falling from the sky, with no wind. Getting the full snow globe effect outside right now. Looks like around 2 to 2.5 inches of snow has piled up on the deck and on grassy surfaces, and some snow is starting to stick on the driveway and sidewalks as well.

About to get slotted in Lincoln. This thing definitely ended up going north, OMA will probably end up with more than LNK. Hopefully it fills back in so maybe I can get 3-4".

A bright  yellow band on radar is parked over Omaha.  I wish I could see that in person.

Congrats Omaha on cashing in. May as well have it big in April.

Tom, congrats on the promotion!

Wow 6" in Omaha?? Another near miss in Lincoln, definitely wasn't our year. Can't wait to just be on clean slate for the first event of 2020-21.

Just measured in a few places on the deck where the snow hasn’t compacted and came up with an average 6 inches of snow as well in Southwest Omaha.

What a nice surprise! And we should add on another inch or two to these totals as snow has picked back up again.

2.5-3" of slush in the grass depending on where I measure so I'll go with 2.75". Looks like KLNK has reported 3.5" so far.... seems a bit a high but believable I guess since it's on the NW edge of town.

Just had a period of pea size hail move through briefly turning decks and dirt spots white with a temp right at 40F. Pretty dynamic system...

Moderate/heavy snow still hanging back towards the Tri Cities. Wouldn't surprised to see some double digit totals for some places in Omaha metro before this is done.

Ripping here again and the street is covered. Seems to be piling up faster than earlier. Still not going to get the 6-8" here but I bet OAX regrets saying that nowhere in Eastern Neb will get 6" today lmao

Full sun and low 50s in E NE tomorrow. It's gonna sound like a waterfall outside I'm sure.

Definitely going to be alot of standing water, but I suspect that the snow cover will limit some of the temps. Also try to post a pic but this is a neighbors car that hasn't moved all day. And the heavy snow on trees.

Measured 4.5" at my place as it's pulling out. I'm slightly bitter about barely missing the 8-12" band, but still enjoying the pretty night. Seeing the reports just to my northwest, KLNK is probably gonna come in close to 6".

The first 12" total has appeared in far south-central Iowa, where the 4-6" fell from the first weak wave early this morning.

Big flakes here. Looks like a snow globe outside. Starting to stick to the deck and grass. Pretty scene

A heavy band on radar is parked over Iowa City.  The webcam shows it really coming down.  The grass is white.

The snow just started here.

I am already at 1.4" after only a couple hours.  It appears we have an overperformer.  I'd love to get a spotter report from Iowa City.

We did very well here in Cedar Rapids.  I have a beautiful 3.5" caked on everything.  That's double what was expected.
