Gradient Keeper
This is the 4th consecutive GFS Op run to surge cold, modified arctic air into eastern Washington. It would be nice to see some ensemble support. If you remember several days ago when the GEM/CMCE and ECMWF/EPS had been suggesting the possible cold pattern for 24-36 hours the GFS said NOPE!, and it was correct. Maybe it is seeing something with the pattern recognition Day 6-10 that the other model camps are not. Grasping at straws is a desperate move. It's all we have right now. Anyhow. 00z ECMWF in 1 hour 2 minutes 7

Heatwave 2021 will probably be the most anomalous event, but about a 48 hour stretch during the 1989 blast were other worldly. 5 Quote My preferences can beat up your preferences’ dad. SnowHawks
What was remarkable about the December 1968 airmass was the length of the event.
