my God, this forum has devolved into the worst of the worst. It's always emotional and reactionary in here, but it seems that the rational and seasoned members have pulled back to make way for the kids.
I'm going to step back for the day too. It's just too much uninformed nonsense.
I am excited for a lot of you guys, because it seems like this is your first time tracking a PNW winter storm. I remember my first time.
This has been the nicest May since 2016 imby. More than half the days so far this month have been overcast with rain and/or storms.
Exact opposite of last year, when most days didn’t have a single cloud in the sky and trees were losing leaves by mid-June.
BLESSINGS
Managed to get a picture of astronomical twilight since it’s easier to see from a plane and managed to get one of the sunrise before it actually rose on the ground. It was pretty cool to see.
Looking at a chance of thunderstorms tomorrow with highs in the 50s. Crazy how we can get a convective atmosphere with temperatures below 55F in mid May, pretty much on the 45° meridian line. It's also pretty cool how in a favorable year we can spend half or even more of the second part of the month with thicknesses below 540dam. All this while the rest of the country rapidly starts to roast again. Even Maine has trouble getting airmasses as good as we do beyond this time of year. The Pacific Ocean really makes our climate the dream of the nation.
