I can have the house 80 degrees if I like even when it's 15 outside. Ours is closer to 80k btu but we can heat 2400 ft2 with it if we wanted. Takes a bit to heat the second floor though. Wood stoves get a bad reputation because people don’t use them properly or burn wet wood. If ours is going good and the wood is dry there is zero smoke coming out of the chimney. A lot of people burn wet wood or turn the air down before they get to temperature and they end up smoking out the neighbors.

MV_snow
I get why my fellow Puget Sounders are weenie-ing out, and I would have loved a big ticket snow storm as much as anyone else, but I can’t be too disappointed with this. I got to experience a sub-20 high with gap winds making the wind chill below zero during the day yesterday. Also today should be my third straight sub freezing high and we got a chance at four tomorrow. We got almost a 1/2” from the arctic front which at least made the ground white for a little bit. And tons of frozen waterfalls, etc. that we don’t see during a pedestrian cold snap with sloppy wet snow. All in all a memorable event here.
