It snowed for about 20 minutes at around 8:30 tonight. The amount of stickage was nope. EUG didn't report any though on the 5 minute obs. Currently 34 degrees which is 2 degrees colder than EUG. The airport is usually colder, but not always. Some other nice person added a personal station to the wunderground network that is only a block a way. Now I got one that is two blocks away and one that is one block away. I don't even need to look at my thermometer any more.

Man I miss the south hills. I grew up on Spring Blvd off E 30th at about 920'. It's crazy how much more snow you get in the hills than in the flats. There were times growing up when I would get 6" and the flats got 1". I used to love leaving the snow on top of my car and driving to school to show it off. (I'm still a moron but don't pull those shenanigans any more)

I have never seen this much 35-36 degree snowfall here in my life over a 2 day stretch.... until now lol, insane.

Last winter I probably had 48 hours worth of 33-35 degree non sticking snow over the entire season. It was infuriating. The biggest depth I had during that entire winter was .75". It does suck but 35 degree snowfall is better than 35 degree rainfall.

The Hrrr basically shows it snowing here from 5a to at least 5p tomorrow... Should be another chilly day.

The HRRR has shown several inches here quite a few times in the last few days and all I've gotten is a slushy half inch. I've given up on it. It seems like all of the models have taken a huge step back lately. They used to be far more accurate, at least in the short term. The long range pepto maps have always been garbage but fun to talk about.

The last winter event that I think models nailed was April 2022 in the WV.

Since then we have as follows:

Nov 4, 2022: Failed to show the air column supporting 1-2 inches in Corvallis area.

Dec 2022: failed to show sleet in PDX metro, well except for PDX, they just got ice. Too fast warmup

Feb 14, 2023: Models showed 1-3 inches of snow, except the GRAF. Ended with nothing, except Corvallis somehow got 1.5-2 inches.

Feb 22-23, 2023: Couldn't latch on until 12 hours before showing a rare convergence zone in the east metro area, and still missed Washington and NE Yamhill County getting a 2nd convergence zone later. Also overestimated Valley totals.

Feb 26-28, 2023: Overestimated totals and too cold.

March 25th, 2023: failed to see any potential for snow that me and Doinko had (Washington County C strikes again).

Non winter: August 2023: too quick on cooldown, south Valley's heat got stronger rather than weaker.

Jan 2024: too fast warmup. Too much snow/not enough sleet for PDX.

And that brings us to now.

The March snow curse is (somewhat) broken! Moderate snow and 32.6F. Approaching 1/2" on the ground. First time I've had any accumulating snow in March since 2017 and I haven't had more than an inch since 2014.

The latest snow I've had here was the 4-6" that fell in mid April 2008. Now that would be something to see a repeat of.

Had some flakes fall last night but no accumulations. Standing at 15.2" for the season

Jealous of your daily total, but not so much of your seasonal total.

If I have to have a month that’s a stinker for snowfall, it might as well be March. Temperatures are marginal at best and it never lasts long even when and where it does happen.
