Back to civilization now after a successful 12 day climb of North America's tallest peak, Denali, home of some of the most extreme weather on the planet, with my 4 great friends Roger, Matt, Scott, and Aaron. For the first half of the climb we were very lucky with the weather and only needed 9 days to get enough good weather days to acclimatize and summit on the evening of the 20th. After we reached the summit we got about 20 minutes of clear sky -28 degree weather with light wind until a cloud
12Z EPS and control run on board for speeding up the timing of the ridge a little bit. Even though the ridge will only last for a few hours it will still be nice.
The forum meet this year is going to need a few dark and hidden corners, 1 for Phil and Jessy, 1 for Tim and Chris, and 1 for Andrew and mossman.. The shenanigans that unfold will be quite the opposite of arguing...
Nah... just taking it one week at a time. We are getting within one week of when the EPS has been showing the ridge building. Not concerned about the back side... that will change many times. Just hoping we can get a pattern change even for a few days. It will be 3 weeks with a single warmer than normal day at SEA by early next week. That streak needs to end!
Phil doesn’t have the best track record of predicting PNW troughing between mid June and early September or so, for whatever reason. In fact it’s usually the KOD for us.
