Just saw this video on twitter. Praying for this family and everyone else affected by Dorian. 🙏

Gilbert NMO Morris @MorrisMedici

It has been 14 hours now with #Dorian in #Freeport #Bahamas and still this is the roof of a home there and take notice of the wind and rush of the waves of this family already on the top floor of the house!

Psalm 148:8 Fire and hail, snow and frost, stormy wind fulfilling his command!

These guys walked right past me when I was mowing lawn this morning... with the lawn mower running. No fear.

They went right for the fruit trees.

12Z ECMWF looks troughy in later in the run... but the 12Z EPS does not look real troughy or cool in the 10-15 day period.

For those who say that summer is always gloomy in the foothills... I actually think it has been just as sunny out here in my area overall as the rest of I-5 corridor since the middle of July. And was just as sunny out here overall in May and during the first half of June.

The last 6 weeks have seemed quite normal for summer... some rain and clouds at times but lots of sun too. No complaints at all.

The June 18 - July 18 period really stands out in hindsight. It was an unusually long crapfest. :)

Did not actually complain that much... was much more debate. I did not even care if people enjoyed it. Regardless of opinion... the duration was highly unusual.

That being said... just 4 or 5 more days in there with the normal afternoon clearing and that entire month-long period would not have seemed that unusual. The persistence was the annoying part.

Looking more like just a transitory trough and a return to ridging next week.

Hope it works out. September ridges are usually beautiful.

Looking pretty gross for the Seahawks first home game. 00Z ECMWF shows widespread light rain and highs in the 60s on Sunday.

Good football weather.

Good football weather.

Wonder if the Hawks play better in the rain?

Warm days and cool evenings, I love it. I would figure some of the cold guys would like it too as September and October snow in Alaska bode well for us later on... in a very unscientific way that weirdly works.

I really need to get going on finishing the drainage project on my property before the endless rains come back. This summer has flown by.

My yard is ready but just when you think you’ve won the war Mother Nature humbles you!
My weather machine is fully operational and reporting the right data to the weather sites and my apps thanks to the Davis tech guy!
Ready for a very active season!!!
