The best blast of my lifetime. Several days of single digit lows and a max of about 15". I did have a little elevation at the time though.

I was living in the Yakima Valley at that time and my memory is riding my bike on farm roads in literal shirtsleeve weather (wearing only a T-shirt and shorts) one weekend, and walking on a frozen Yakima River the next weekend.

It's called clown range for a reason.

What about February 1989?

That was awesome too. But more drastic in terms of Cold. Puget sound was steaming in front of Elliott Point due to the 50 degree difference in air vs water temp. Never seen that again since. Mukilteo got about 9 inches that time but it was drier variety than usual

Fascinating run.  So much potential with this thing.  There seems to be a decent chance for a second round according to a lot of different model runs.

I was six years old and remember 1990 pretty well. Made an impression.

There was a crazy thunder snow CZ during that one in this area. Also the only time I can recall school being shut down during midday. The meteorologist said it wouldn't snow til nightfall but the snow switched over around 9am instead and by noon we were under 6+ inches of heavy stuff.

In this case those snow maps would verify due to cold enough air being in place.  Highly unlikely it will play out exactly like this though.

I think a blend of the ICON, GFS, and ECMWF would be awesome for all of us.  This thing has amazing potential.
