PNW January 2023 Observations and Discussion

These are so cool, especially when it's active.  Soon we will see some high pressure slide into place right off the west coast of California and protect California from downpours and aiming any precipitation towards us in the PNW.  I love seeing the clouds (and snow) bunch up along the Sierra's.  It's very apparent in this.

Euro run kind of fell through the cracks. Not cold and exciting enough for most people here to post about, but not mild enough to make it worth trolling about either.

Happy medium. A 240 hour model in an 840 hour model world.

Not sure why rain and mountain snow fans would like this run.   It's pretty dry.    Also shows highs in the upper 40s most days in Seattle which lately has actually meant low 50s.   Seems like a run I would like.  Very quiet and pleasant.   But I really want Randy to be buried in snow again.  🙏

Delayed but hopefully not denied.

I am starting to wonder if ridge amplification is going to be an issue.   But probably not because everything works out in February.

Way too early to even worry about it now.

Not worried... just wondering.   We are doing our part by leaving for Hawaii!

Way too vague.   Does this mean accumulating snow in downtown Seattle?  Snow in the air?  Snow in the suburbs?  Foothills?  Probably won't have to eat a bug.  😀
