Deweydog
This whole winter thus far should be. February isn't looking all that great (as if it was) I bet we get no more lowland snow this year and if we do it'll be in mid/late March F**** this climateWow. wx_statman
The pattern has been pretty similar to 2000-01. Pretty big differences from January 2006, though, aside from maybe this week. Agreed.

wx_statman
I think 2000/01 was/is a much better “large scale” pattern analog than 2005/06. The latter didn’t have nearly as much mid-latitude Arctic air (around the world, really) as this winter has had (so far, at least). Pretty major Arctic blast in eastern Europe in January 2006. Some all-time record lows in places like Ukraine.

Phil
Pretty major Arctic blast in eastern Europe in January 2006. Some all-time record lows in places like Ukraine. That’s the opposite of this year, right?
