January Weather In the PNW

You are on the path... not me. You are dragging the discussion down with nothing but personal attacks launched at me.

No point.

Enjoy!

Pretty sure you set a record this year for the number of members that called you out. Thought I would remind you of that since you continue to play the innocent card.

All winter long except for a small blip around Christmas there have been carrots dangled in the 10-15 day range and it hasn't worked out.  There.  That's my analysis.

I totally agree.

I talk w/ Bryant on Facebook a lot. He’s a very smart dude and is also a tropical forcing wonk, but I think he’s tired of all the BS on here. If that would stop, I think he’d probably feel more comfortable contributing here.

Let's refrain from attacking posts in here. If there's a weather based post/map or bit of information you don't like - don't bother commenting on it.

Don't go shooting any messengers.

12z EURO at day 10 looks good. Wasn't as cold as last night's 00z but it's perfectly normal for models to delay how fast the Arctic air gets here. The only concern I have at the moment is the block might become too top heavy once again so that could divert the coldest air east of us.

The EPS 2M temp mean for places in Washington at least are only different by a degree or two at the most in the 12Z run vs. the 0Z run.  However, I will say that when we actually get an arctic outbreak, often the models move up the timing, not move it back.

And the ECMWF weeklies come out this evening, I think.

He's doing a fine job fixing the problem.

Hanging at 38 at home.

Interesting seeing the temperature difference over the Sound between SEA and PWT.

Too bad there isn't cold air seepage coming across the Cascades today.

18z NAM is awesome up here for Friday night. Hopefully that track verifies.

That looks like about a 750 foot snow level outside of your area and the Hood Canal.

You've dragged this place down. You may not be a whiny little ***** bent on destructing over your inability to score proper frozen precipitation in recent years but that's how it reads.

Tim has drug this place down for years, so if it takes me being a "whiny little *****" to get the central issue resolved, then so be it. We can't go 5 posts of positivity without Tim stepping in to bring everyone down to earth. Agree or not, doesn't hurt my feelings.

Will the drunk uncle be sober today? Gonna guess he will, sadly. At least for the Willamette Valley.

The content he posts could just as easily be posted by many others here. If you feel like we just need to accept his BS because he throws a bit of "quality" in sometimes, then I'm not quite sure what to say. He has toned down the attacks on Jim due to multiple people calling him out, but he still comes here to push his narrative every chance he gets, then plays the innocent card. Since I joined the forum back in 2010, this year by far has seen the most people express their distaste for him. That should say something

50 here with showers and BSF.  17 days in January have seen 50 or higher here.  Gonna have to go back through the years but I'm willing to bet this is among the highest since I moved here in 1989.

Looks like Jan, 2003 had 20 days of 50 or higher so it'll be close.  Only 2 days so far have had highs in the 30s since Nov 1...Dec 21 and Christmas Eve both hit 35 for a high.

Dude, you're making your Tim's obsession with Jim look like small potatoes. Tim can be pretty annoying, but good ******* lord.

50? That's 5 degrees warmer than SLE. Wouldn't surprise me you are a warm spot in the valley on a day like this though.

Sanctimonious crap.

You are the only person who comes in here with the sole purpose of launching personal attacks.    Everyone else at least makes an effort.   Including me.

And this 'being a downer' stuff is BS.   It obviously bothers you because its often accurate.  Otherwise is would not matter at all.

And I have toned down the Jim stuff because of the other people?   That reasoning is not entirely true... but even if it was then it shows an effort to change and improve.    But the attacks have actually escalated as you have become more desperate.

It's just one bad run and models change every run, unless it's Dec 2008 where it held steady

The operational GFS and the ensembles have been lousy and haven't shown much of any action. GEM and EC hint at some cooling off but then it gets taken away when it gets inside of 10 days.
