Just a rough guess, but I wouldn't be surprised to see King County get a couple of inches.

We are definitely getting shadowed here. Flurries falling but the sun is shining brightly through the clouds at times.

You're north of the good dynamics now.

I'd be shocked if you get much more than a skimpy dusting, Jim. Sorry, the models know what they're doing.

I'm pretty confident but we'll see.  I know this stuff pretty well.

How can anyone look at that coastal radar and say we're not going to score well?  There is a southerly push crossing the overall ESE ward movement.  I've seen this before.

That does look impressive. Even more so than the other night. Will see if the Olympics shred it. Thos beautiful mountains always ruin our fun.

This is beginning to look potentially serious now.  Major slug of precip moving inland now.

Yeah looking really good. Only thing is I wish it was coming in a bit later in the day.

I've been slammed with work and haven't had a chance to look outside but I hear it is good coming down pretty good.  I checked my weather station and its back down to 29.

I just hopes it keeps going long enough for me to get done with work and get out to enjoy it!

There are some obs i watch in the Olympics for a sw wind from west shift. It has happened and the sound will fill soon.

We come from the land of the ice and snow.

Do we have any posters out towards where this snow is coming onshore?

Looks like it is intensifying.

40 and still somewhat pleasant.  Can almost see the sun through the increasing clouds. The WWA is indeed asinine.  Dewpoint here is 33 and with southerly flow there is no way there is any wintry precip around Salem below 500' and maybe even 1000'.

Salem is 36 with a dp of 25. You might want to check your thermometer.

Also of note...Salem is sitting at 36 at noon with partly sunny skies and a south wind at 17 mph. Not often you see that...

Frustrating to keep seeing the precip die as it goes through the strait. It just can’t make it through yet.

This always happens with systems approaching from the West like this. We just usually don't notice it as much when it's rain.

I think things will fill in for a brief period later this afternoon, but I'll be surprised if the Central Sound gets more than general 1/2"-1" amounts.

Olympics sure doing a great job on us right now

There have been some healthy-looking green returns over me for like an hour now, but not even a flurry. Sky doesn't look particularly threatening either.

I can see the Olympics from my apartment. Just shook my fist at them a couple of times....hopefully that'll help.

I'm not sure Mark has a warm bias, I think it's more a climo bias.

If anything he will forecast cold a day or two before the other mets in Portland. I think in his business you want to have an accuracy bias, or you won't be around long.

I think the atmosphere is trying trying to moisten up after the cold dry night. Been a few flurries here already. It is trying...
