PNW February 2023 Weather Discussion - Meteorological winter finale

For anyone who moves to the island, avoid the area to the SE of that red line at all costs if you enjoy weather. It does alright maybe once a winter, but you're constantly watching places just 10~20 miles away getting double or triple your totals on every other event. Things look good under that band out toward Shawnigan's area.

About 6” so far here.  Hrdps suggests things get nuts with the deformation band after midnight.

It shows Mossman getting crushed so maybe it's onto something.

Something tells me @MossMan is going to be the big winner of this event.

I’ve had a hell of a day with sick kids who will be home with us tomorrow while we try and WFH. Can someone just tell me NE Seattle is getting some snow please. I may have told my eldest she would wake up to snow, so I blame all those BOOM posts over the past week if she’s let down.

Tomorrow afternoon looks very good for that area.

It is snowing here, but it's very wet.  At least it's a good sign for later.

That thing tomorrow afternoon does look like an interesting wildcard.  Maybe it will sag a bit south of expectations.

Crossing my fingers we can get some steadier bands comings through. This spotty precip is irritating.

The more solid stuff is supposed to be quite a bit later.

North winds at a buoy that is south of where the low is supposed to be right now.  Could be a good sign.

It's been snowing pretty much all day here but nothing has stuck, temps have been around 34 and it's just too mild with everything melting on contact for hours!

No complaints though, got a 14" dump just before Christmas and 8" yesterday. Winter gets a B+ from me. And it hasn't been that cold which is good for me as I'm not a fan.

B+ here as well.  Not a whole lot of snow, just 5.75" on the season, but it's been cool and fun. Plus those 2" of high quality fluff followed by a 26/15 day. Pretty noice. Lots of winters go by here without anything remotely close.

Well despite some strong echos I’m only seeing a few flakes. Hopefully the air can get saturated more.

Chunky flakes here north of Ballard too! Sounds like rain drops still mixed in though

Yeah when it is all snow the flakes are huge and wet. That's what you get when its 35F ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
