PNW February 2023 Weather Discussion - Meteorological winter finale

I'm thinking that stuff down around Yelm may actually hold together for King County.  It looks pretty impressive on the sat loop.

Looks good! I wish every map had I-5 marked on it, makes finding my exact location easier to pinpoint. Some do and some don’t I have noticed.

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

You also have the advantage of being right on a county line to help you pinpoint your location.

That helps a lot, it’s just how far east do I look when the snow depth colors are so tightly packed.

Its horrible for me.   Almost impossible because we are surrounded by mountains.    I use I-90 as a guide to pinpoint my location but I need the context of snow being shown to my west before I believe it will actually snow here.    Verbatim... my exact location is almost always in the pepto colors when there is snow in the mountains but its almost always meaningless.

I think we are down to just watching the radar for this system as well.

Just a light rain/snow mix here now. Snow has mainly melted off the roads. At least down here, any more snow we receive will likely be heavily depending on precip rates.

Yeah, same here! hoping for a morning surprise!

This is just cruel. @MossMan fire up your snow magnet to drive this sucker a bit to the east.

I was just admiring that on the UW radar... quite the deformation zone and its just parked there.   Now I know why I have been seeing so much purple and pink on the snow maps up there.

For anyone who moves to the island, avoid the area to the SE of that red line at all costs if you enjoy weather. It does alright maybe once a winter, but you're constantly watching places just 10~20 miles away getting double or triple your totals on every other event. Things look good under that band out toward Shawnigan's area.

It'll be interesting to see where it sets up when that low pivots around the Olympics. I have a feeling there's going to be a massive snowfall gradient, with our luck it will probably split the Saanich Peninsula right along the current radar line.
