Awesome day in La pine Oregon today! Went golfing at Aspen lakes and we got pummeled by thunderstorms! Got to enjoy rumbling all afternoon. Management finally came out to say play at your own risk. We called it quits when hail ...some marble size... turned the course white and lightning struck near us. Impossible to golf but I was having a great time!

We were soaked even though we were in carts. Wish I took pictures but just impossible under the circumstances.

First tease of snow in Bozeman showing up on one member of the 00z EPS by the end of the month. Also saw that the latest ECMWF weekly control run dumps 6+ inches of snow all over Central Montana during the second week of September.

 

These little teases can only mean one thing, Fall is indeed just around the corner!

Ugh, yeah shows a fresh wave of smoke making things worse for much of the West. Eastern WA and western MT look especially bad.
