November 2018 Weather in the Pacific Northwest

Southern OR did miss a couple fall time pineapple expresses that I believe are somewhat normal for here. In late 2016 I had a handful of heavy rains before my winter kicked into full gear. Not this time. It's just been bone dry pretty much.

Wonder if it will stand, looks like temps were 39/40 degrees. Would think it would have to be fairly heavy wet snow at that temp to stick even briefly

Looks like it stands. Apparently it’s on video too.

Looking increasingly likely that the Seahawks game Thursday evening will indeed be dry.

Another opportunity to fool the nation into thinking it's not always wet in Seattle!

I'm sure most of the nation is already well aware of how brutally wet this year has been, from the April rains to the late June clouds to the mid September showers. Seattle's reputation is in shambles.

It appears so... the models strengthened that slowly moving front for Thursday night a couple days ago but have now slowed it down slightly.  Good news for the game... bad news for Friday which looks pretty damp now for the Seattle area.

Side note.. the 00Z MM5 NAM and WRF still both show some rain during the game.

Why bad news? Most people i know like the rain.

We come from the land of the ice and snow.

If there is a flurry in the Portland area tomorrow morning Rod Hill is forgiven for the 2008 slip up.

Mark Nelsen also called for a significant warm-up on the 21st of Dec 08 and that was way off. If this is what it's in reference to.

Wasn't Rod Hill still with KATU back then? I remember watching Salesky's forecast on KGW for the 08 event, which apparently was not much of any event at all down here. People generally feel like 13-14 is more notable for the south valley so I hear.

Maybe with offshore flow continuing and some wet bulb cooling?

Temps are fairly close to freezing around the metro area but the airmass can't support anything. Fake cold. It is 38F at nearly 6500ft on Mt Batchelor. Wet bulb temps aloft not enough and there isn't nearly enough precip to wet bulb. Not sure if Rod is trolling or what.

We were not home... but there was snow in the air around here last Friday and that was not forecasted.

There was a much colder airmass aloft that day.

At face value some of the patterns shown on the long range GFS would produce below average surface temps.
