Brian_in_Leavenworth
You can also go to wearher.us, pick the Euro, ask the map to find your location, and see how much precip falls as snow. Not an exact snow map, but it is a close up of your areaAnd even then seeing a map of a specific area isn't always helpful, as no weather model can handle terrain well. For example, sometimes this map shows the Columbia Basin as being colder than the mountains, and not just during an inversion. I have seen it show snow for Wenatchee and rain for Leavenworth, which never happens as we are consistently 4 degrees colder than they are.

Gradient Keeper
Amen on all levels! My thoughts exactly on guns and the evolution of the most recent model output. I shared it last night but some felt it was meaningless, hope you had a wonderful Christmas sir! Thanks, we did. We made the best of it. Christmas was well very different and a big adjustment. We went up to Seattle on Sunday to visit my Nephew at the UW Medical Center. Christmas was not quite the same, but we brought Christmas to him. We brought his gifts and everything. We drove through the worst driving conditions on I-5 that I've seen in many years. Torrential rain and a lot of flooding, hydroplaning, etc. Fun stuff. 18z today a touch further west with the block, energy in Aleutians, and arctic trough. Result is a bit cooler air mass into Columbia Basin. Here is an animated GIF of the past 8 GFS runs centered at 10 PM Saturday. https://imgur.com/DErlHf9 Nice trend if you ask me. Problem is we're running out of time for that to really matter a heck of a lot. Some cooler temps into Eastern Washington/Columbia Basin. We could still see improvements the next 24 hours on models, a notch here, a notch there, but that's it. No time for anything further.

SilverFallsAndrew
You know, the 18z GFS is not torchy at least. Lots of splitting troughs with near to a little above average temps and probably 3000-4000' snow levels in the Cascades. Requiem
Off-topic, but a weather event I find very underrated was the windstorm on March 15th, 2015. It was a weak 995-1000 mb low, made a landfall just north of Astoria, and created wind gusts for 45-60 mph throughout the Willamette Valley. It was quite a surprise, as the only model which picked up on the strength of the winds was the NAM. I remember that it struck during one of my piano recitals, and caused quite the chaotic scene when several outdoor chairs took flight and hit the windows. Off-topic, I know, but it was a cool little storm. Not as cool as April 7th, 2017, but a really nice storm. 1 Quote "Let's mosey!" --Cloud Strife ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Top 5 Snow Events (post 2014): (1.
