Beautiful sunset on the Willamette in Salem. Caught a beaver snacking in the river. He is also in the lower left hand corner of the sunset shot.

Trend of gradients/satellite/echoes offshore would hint that models are too far N with heavy SN tnght. But it is looking N of Seattle (maybe S Snohomish county is on far S edge). @NWSSeattle forecast looks like best bet at this point. Nowcast is best tool and will change. #wawx pic.twitter.com/xuVZTv9JWT— Jay Albrecht (@AlbrechtJay) January 15, 2020

Big difference between Seattle and Everett the last two days, been awhile since I can remember such a difference with an arctic front stalling in between them.

SEA was 37/30 yesterday and 36/28 today. PAE was 31/25 yesterday and 28/24 today.

I remember one winter in the 1990's when the arctic front stalled over Seattle. Upper 20's in Shoreline, mid-30's downtown.

It's called clown range for a reason.

I am looking for property in ID I am hoping to move this spring or summer. I can hardly wait. I am going to love the 6% sales tax there also along with real winters. This is just to freaking annoying. I guess I understand this feeling.  I used to live in one of the premier spots in the country, but 80 degrees at Christmas is annoying after a few decades  I didn't surf anymore, so I got sick of the sun.  I got to where I hated the sun.  I am still not too fond of it, but can enjoy a nice summer day here.

You know what?  You are doing the right thing.  Moving from the climate I hated was the best thing I could have ever done.  Often when I am driving I still get surprised I ended up living in my dream location.  BTW- It was year long sunshine and beaches, but I was done surfing and fishing was almost non-existent unless you paid.  Plus, I really started to hate crowds of people.  Bainbridge is too crowded for me.

Moving should be done by anyone who hates the climate and can afford to do so.   Life is a short MF.

I love snow.  But if I had to deal with t all winter long, I wouldn't.  This place is perfect for me.  Good luck in Idaho.

SEA was a few degrees warmer than most Seattle area stations today. BFI topped out at 33.

From that Jaya tweet and the NWS model blend I think Seattle could still get a few inches. But anything below SeaTac wouldn’t get more than a trace. Kinda crazy how this is setup. I’m just hoping udist gets in on the moderate-heavy snow

Where do you see the NWS model blend?
