I'm really sorry for your loss. My 16 year old Black Retriever had to be put down back in April because of sudden aggressive bone cancer and made her limp in pain with each passing day. This was right before my midterms week so I was just a complete wreck.

I know what you're feeling, this reawakened some sorrow for my pooch today but looking back at it now, it's hard to get sad about it when she, just like your Parker, lived happy and fulfilling lives and woke up each day knowing they were loved and cared for.

How I felt when I went back to the Philippines. Granted that it was during the summer (or wet season over there), but I can't fathom spending my winter days in Manila as opposed to WA even if I like the sun. I'll take cold, gray, rainy days any day, with chances of 6"+ snow throughout the winter.

Dry and wet seasons for six months at a time is pretty boring. Low-end typhoons are fun to experience though.

That depends how far south you go? I believe seasonality is actually greater in most of the subtropical climate domain in the US, compared to West-WA.

I’m sure the 1% will be fine on their lakes or outside US borders on their little islands, but regular folx will suffer greatly. Multnomah county is preparing litigation.

For whatever it’s worth there wasn’t a single ensemble member on the 12z EPS as warm as the 18z operational. But as always extreme heat solutions should be given inordinate weight these days.

Hey everyone! It's been a while...crazy stuff has been happening. 

I'm all moved into my house down here in AZ. It's pretty great to be a homeowner. Still doesn't feel real. I was laid off from my job of 7.5 years on May 11, signed an offer on June 8, and closed on the house this past Wednesday. 

Backyard is a work in progress. Turf will be installed soon. Need to find a good place for the weather station out there.

Pretty toasty but, honest to God, I'm used to it. We'll see how the 110+ feels later this week...

And yes, I'm looking forward to it. I've got a very specific photograph I'd like to get. The Goodyear Airport has an aircraft boneyard and if there is some activity to the southeast, over the mountains, while the sun is setting, it would make for an incredible photo. I'm hoping I can make it happen this summer.

Had a beautiful week in the Canadian Rockies visiting Banff and Yoho NPs. Had some very low snow levels on Monday, down around 5500', and gradually warmed and cleared in the days since. Amazing views everywhere you look!
