May 2020 Weather discussion for the PNW

Recommended Posts

Disappointing to see the GFS trending so dry. Have enjoyed the rain so far this month.

Even if it warms up, hopefully we get some ULL's sometime this Spring. Dry boring patterns for weeks straight are never fun.

Same here... generally between 1 to 1.5 inches in this area in the last 24 hours.

Hopefully it’s nice and warm next weekend...looks good so far I’m planning on being out here on the water again next weekend too so warm would be great.

A person made of water, wants to float on the water, but god forbid if water starts falling from the sky.

Holy cumulonimbus.

How long does it take you to mow?

Usually 3 or 4 hours. Depending on my urgency or if I take a break for a cold beer on the deck. Too chilly today for that so I just keep moving.

It is insanely lush here right now... typical for early May.

And my wife insisted on red trees in the yard to provide contrast with all the green.

Over half done and the weather is still holding. :)

You need to work on your stripes. ;)

Otherwise, man do you have one hell of a property. I can see why you’re hesitant to leave.

My son is moving split wood down to the shed in a wheelbarrow... back and forth across the lawn. My stripes are worthless today.

That’ll do it.

Same maple as before?

Here are two coral bark maples on each side of the deck with a red leaf maple in the yard. The coral bark maples are green all summer and put on a show of bright yellow in the fall and then have red bark all winter. Just a beautiful tree in every season and grow so well here.

57/43 0.15” in Tacoma. Thunderstorm activity never ended up materializing much in the south sound the last couple days. Good thing is the warm season has just begun and there will likely be better opportunities for convection this spring and summer...hopefully anyways.
