Yeah, you might be close to landfall per latest Euro. Though it is much weaker still on Euro than GFS.

The gulf is a bathtub. It will probably be strong.

Raining here now. Only just noticed it (wasn't raining as of an hour ago) but the state highway is wet so must have started awhile back.

There is at least one lightning caused fire in silver falls state park in the Buck Mountain area. Sounds like crews are hiking in to investigate…

I'm supposed to be working so I snuck out for about thirty seconds. Looks like maybe .03 or something but still raining. Didn't get a chance to actually look super closely though. I'll take what I can get.

You’re probably better off saying the WV region because Salem, Eugene, PDX all checked in very hot this summer and scorching August. This wasn’t just exclusive to PDX down there.

I know. I wasn't saying it was exclusive to Portland, simply that they maximized it the most.

Hence the two stats I gave: PDX has ran warmer anomalies this summer than any other major I-5 station, and they were the only one to meet or exceed their old record high earlier this month (neither EUG or SLE did this).

So smoky today that I can’t even see the Coburg Hills. Looks like EUG picked up 0.04” in the thunderstorms last night. Tangent had a brief downpour but it would appear Springfield stayed dry. Worried about smoldering fires blowing up.

Temps really shot up fast as soon as the clouds cleared... SEA went from low 60s to upper 70s in little more than an hour.

Went from 63 at 11 a.m. up to 78 here now and heading well into the 80s.

That is the type of situation that could lie dormant waiting for low humidity and wind and then spring to life seemingly out of nowhere.   Hope they really douse that 1/4 of an acre!

And with that, it’s a new record surpassing the mark set just eight years ago. Mind you, it took until early October to reach the fitty mark during that gem of a summer.

Certainly an unprecedented year for moderate warmth in the PNW.

Something similar at SEA with their 70+ streak currently only second to 2017.

There has been almost endless consistent warmth out here in my area this summer... but only a few days of miserable heat.

I must have 33 up the filter when I did it back when I was f*cking with Jared in early July. 55 is the number to beat. Let’s go Kolesar!!! Ex-Seattle Thunderbird ftw!

70+ is a substantially lower bar than 85+ for PDX, though. SEA averages well above that for about 3 months straight.

80+ would be much more comparable for SEA.

Really hope that Monday-Tuesday deliver some thunderstorms for here in the Puget Sound Region after the miss out today but also bring more moisture. Also closest lightning detected to my location was 7.6 miles away at south end of McChord Airfield just one. 74-76° right now here
