Youngest kid just heard me say its lightly snowing in North Bend. "Can we go back to the tree farm?" Uh, no, but that's the right spirit, kiddo!

Tell your kid you need a magnifying glass to actually see it.  😀

It has got to be extremely frustrating to not have any weather radar coverage that works. It can be dumping snow and not even a blip on the radar. It seems like the heaviest snow events are when a reasonably chilly and moist low sets up in southern Oregon and spins the moisture from the east against the mountainous terrain. But any moist chilly airmass that can make it over the mountains will drop snow. I would have loved to move to Bend, but as most people are, I've been priced out for life.

I lived in Eugene from 09-early 15 and then moved to Bend. I’ve been living without radar most of the time I’ve cared about weather. Learn to guess like many others who aren’t fortunate enough to know exactly what’s coming. Those SW OR lows that bring wrap around moisture bring our biggest snows, Eugene too if it’s cold enough. Too bad we’ve only had 1 the last 4 years compared to the previous 7

Still counts! I wouldn’t have seen the flurries on Tuesday if there wasn’t sunshine for them to glisten in.

Note how the 00z GEFS strengthens the -WPO, which flips the 500mb pattern over the west coast. Yucky.

Need more troughing over the NW-Pacific/Okhotsk Sea.

Currently chaotic in Federal Way as residents are running amok as their apps are showing snow!  Lol 😂

This post already up to 24 comments and spreading like wildfire!!! They’re also learning that different weather apps are giving conflicting reports 🤣. I’m entertained.

They are totally reliant on the app and whatever it says is supposed to happen.  I told all of them to go outside and check the street lamps!!!

D****T Jim, why aren’t they checking the Streetlamp!

40.1F/26.7F day here, so close to a sub 40 high! It was down to 28F an hour ago, but with the clouds increasing the temperature is threatening to rise above freezing. Hoping to squeeze one more freeze in after midnight, but I don't think it will happen.

Also, I really enjoyed just staring at the 16 day total precipitation forecast by the 18z GFS today. On Pivotal, basically the whole west side of OR and WA was in the 5"+ category! And 30" in the Olympics, 20"+ in the Cascades, and 5-10" throughout the lowlands! That would be a wild couple of weeks to experience! Unfortunately the 00z backed off a bit, but is still slightly damp.
