I'm sure a lot of folks are strongly considering. I'm strongly considering moving to a climate that sees more that dozens of inches of snow a decade.

I am a fast track to get my house done in Eastern Wa. I'm so done with this climate lol. Almost there though and i will be living at 4k feet in the Okanagan Highlands.

I think there will be a chance of some convergence coming around the southern Olympics to enhance precip as the boundary approaches, it has happened before here and not been picked up in the models.  Can't remember what year the last one was but models showed maybe 1/2" here, ended up with 9+ with moisture constantly backfilling and cold air flowed in.

It's really funny watching the reactions on that post. They are all running into each other. It's like an emoji party at the Seattle meet up.

I think it’s pretty far from obvious what the pattern does for the rest of the month, once we are done with this setup.

Its coming... but that is a week away and in the meantime there is some historic stuff happening before that so its completely irrelevant right now.

10 degrees in Juneau!

cold. Anchorage is showing 19.

probably the first day southeast has been colder than south central AK all winter.

north wind starting to cook in the north/south oriented channels, bleeding over to an east wind in areas sheltered from the north wind.

models still flip flopping the break down of arctic high / overrunning / pattern change like they always do… likely won’t know what will happen until a day before… but looks like a good chance for a big storm. Yeehaw

Couple photos from my dog walk yesterday. Near single digit temps + wind makes it hard to pull the camera out but figured the board would be receptive.

One of them shows ice forming in the harbor; another is just pretty mountains. Can see plumes of snow blowing as the wind just started to blow when I took Themis

He seems like a nice guy, but maybe with a big internet ego. Fake points 'n all.
