February 2024 Weather in the PNW

Recommended Posts

Low of 33F and it was all sunny in the morning but turned all cloudy before the afternoon. High of 54F and currently 51F with a few raindrops here and there. There's a WSW from 4pm today till Saturday morning for 2500' and up. The NWS of Medford says 1" to 2" possible for the valley floors during this whole event. Hoping it's more than that! 🤞

I don’t see it getting cold enough here tonight. Temps behind the front are not that cold. Shame because it is absolutely pouring.

Dynamics aren’t as good up there with this.

Sorry i do not agree at all. We will just leave it at that because no one knows anyway.  Everyone said it was to warm the other day and Everett got 4 inches right on the warm pavement. A bunch of people will be surprised in my opinion.

Right!! I got over 3 inches with the mid February event and per most on here, shouldn't have lol!!

I just hit 3 inches of rain for the month LOL

2.5" for the month here and 0.05" on the day. The extra day in the month this year is really going to make a difference in February precip totals here.

Another loop... the ECMWF wind map.    Interesting how it cuts off in a uniform line but then we are right back to strong southerly wind by mid-day tomorrow.

Your area and snowmizers area were never really in doubt for that event though. Looked pretty solid west of the sound for days in advance. Most people were just doubting snow for most of puget sound. That ended up being reality here besides near Olympia and a very slushy trace of snow here.

New 00Z ICON is a few degrees warmer early tomorrow morning than its previous runs.     12Z run showed 38 in Seattle at this same time.   Maybe picking up on real time data with the front?

Agreed.   I showed this to Jim last night when he said the ICON literally never shows lowland snow.    It actually did pretty good with that mid-February event.  Its not like it missed it completely.    It was showing lowland snow on every run leading up to that event.
