Here's the snow thus far

Just catching up to everything this morning. I think given that the user base of the forum has been somewhat of a close knit community for 15+ years, there is a bit of leeway given when it comes to be

12Z ECMWF does not show any snow for WA... but it does show snow right where you expect snow in October in Oklahoma and Texas.

I like this because it shows snow where I am going to be during that time period. Lol

Would be nice to see a hard freeze and get the storm train going in November.

Yeah I am suddenly realizing it is looking to turn into a pretty dry last half of October. I know the usual suspects have seen some drizzle the last few days but I mean in terms of regional storminess.

Okay historians, what’s the earliest there’s been measurable snowfall in the Puget Sound region?

October 25th or 27th I believe. Can’t remember the exact years but I think there was one time in 1971 and another time in 1991. It’s happened a few times but not in a long time.

1984 came to mind too.

As recently as 2017, some northerners had snow in very early November if I recall.

12Z EPS in general agreement with the 12Z ECMWF... sending the bulk of the cold air into the middle of the country next weekend as opposed to the West.

As much as I love cold and snow I hope this doesn't happen. We lost way too many non palm trees last year with an eerily similar pattern on nearly the exact same dates.

Well... -12 in Bozeman and snow in Texas and Oklahoma is also pretty unbelievable for October.

Not a huge surprise the past 30

days have been quite wet. I bet sometime in early November things really get cranking.

I've been trying to find/remember which night that was. My brain says the 4th or 5th but nothing really shows up on wunderground. Was a really dope night though. I was staying at my girlfriends and stepped out for a bite to eat and was greeted by a solid couple inches of snow on everything. My old scion slid to the bottom of the street with its all seasons still on and I nope'd back to her apartment to eat in. Pretty sure thats the only time I've seen November snow in my 4 years here so far. Actually saw more November snow in Texas, I think.

Just did a significant user prune. Wiped out 4k accounts from the past 6 years that were spammers or just inactive with weird emails, like "axjio43@bigdaddysuggestivereferences.org". Aside from the 12z EURO/EPS those were some crazy chilly, cold, snowy runs! Although not yet on board, the EURO did improve from 00z last night. EURO jumps on board tonight? or the other models revert trending back towards mediocrity? Hmmm! C'MON!!!!

This N flow is actually super pleasant. Like a fan softly blowing. Kiddos enjoying the time outside when it would otherwise often be rainy or showery. With our tiny space it's good for them to be able to be outside as much as possible.

Don't forget about the trees tho

If, as some models forecast, there is sea-level snow next weekend, the windmill palms, by virtue of their being evergreen, should cope better with it than the still mostly leaved-out deciduous trees.
