How dare you say that??

Completely offensive!    I am very angry right now.

And be prepared... tomorrow will be sunny but its going to be 3 degrees colder.    Tomorrow is going to be brutal.   :)

(it WILL be 3 degrees cooler since the GFS MOS has been dead on)

Ye of little faith

Tell me Tim, HOW brutal will it be tomorrow?

I can't even imagine 34 degree and sunny.   It will blow your mind.    :)

Official reading is in... SEA was at 37/28 today.

I had 37/25.

Hopefully they can get down to 25 by midnight... otherwise my cold bias is showing again.   :)

I don't think anything correct-ish will get fully established until 24 or so hours out at the earliest. There's just a lot of moving parts with a setup like this, and every small amount of jet suppression can make a difference. HRRR model did the best with the December snow events, so I'd say look for it to be less out to lunch than the NAM/GFS duo.

What's interesting is how fused together the Saturday storm now looks with the Thursday/Friday conglomeration down south. Not nearly as well defined a gap between the two now, with low and mid level moisture advection increasing dramatically through the day on Friday across the region.

Agreed. Baroclinic zone setting up somewhere over the Willamette Valley and the pacific moisture streams in continously over the same area leading to a major snow storm. It would likely favor PDX south. I have a hunch going out on a limb that models soon may turn decidedly wetter/whiter. If I'm wrong, sue me.

-20c still progged at The Dalles on the 18Z. I think PDX will see highs below 30 tomorrow and Thursday, especially with more cloud cover around potentially.

Yep, I am starting to think that it will be difficult to get any decent lows out of this thing. I don't really care, as long as we get some subfreezing highs and some snow.

I agree, and I can't believe that sharp of a 850mb gradient between PDX and DLS of 8-9c over 90 miles, yet 4-5 runs in a row show this. That's insane. Don't forget some snowcover in the eastern Gorge and throughout most if not all the Columbia Basin to aid in further cooling. The Freezer Door is now open!

We shall see. The 18Z spit out -20 at The Dalles starting at 06Z (10pm) tomorrow while PDX is -11c at the same time.

Should make for some wicked east winds.

I just measured. 2" of snow fell up here today! More snow than I got with the December blast.

This snow has put me in a MUCH better mood! Now maybe Jesse will be able to stand me! If a solution like the 18z or a little further north were to verify I'd be a very happy camper!

Beautiful picture. Thanks for sharing. Hope all the rest of us get snow too. Good to hear about the snow falling in different places today. Unfortunately I didn't get to watch any snowflakes dancing or falling like meteors through the air.

00z NAM is awesome. Low comes in Thursday-Friday south of PDX stalls throws up increasing moisture. More moisture/WHITER run. East wind continues. And look what is approaching the southern Oregon Coast? oooo this is going to be BIG
