If you are from Florida, at least you know what you are getting yourself into moving to Georgia.  What part of the state are you moving to?  I grew up in and around Atlanta, and also spent some time in Athens and down near Valdosta.  I moved around ALOT when I lived there.

Looking at northern Georgia, somewhere like Ellijay. It's my grandparents decision, not mine. I'm just here to help them move to wherever they pick!

Just looked up the traffic cams down there... pretty crazy.    Totally different day out here.   Not warm by any means... but much brighter and totally dry.

North Georgia is nice, Dahlonega and Helen are neat little tourists towns, it should be a little cooler up there in the summer.  If you explore enough off the beaten path you definitely find some "paddle faster, I hear banjos" situations.  😂

Blairsville is another nice spot, my Aunt and Uncle have a small piece of property there where they park their RV and that is where they spend their summers (their regular house is just south of Atlanta).

Toccoa and Clayton are also nice, I used to go up to Clayton a lot and camp as a kid.  I should qualify, they are nice as far as being beautiful country....as places to live I have no idea.

Good luck with your move!!

This cold snap has officially hit big deal status.  SEA dropped to 33 before midnight last night and tied the record from 1968.  Then they dropped to 32 and tied the record of 32 from 1945 for today.  Nice to see the old records falling instead of recently set ones.  At this point it appears SEA could pull off a 44/32 for the day which is pretty ridiculous.

Changing to snow! About 90% snow.

This cold snap has really gotten it's act together.  To me it has a different vibe than either 2008 or 2011.  A very interesting mix of chilly continental and maritime polar air.  Today has literally been a bit colder than normal for December.

39 now…next shower is already starting so looks very unlikely we get above 42. 42/32 temp spread with rain and snow showers is cold anytime of year but on April 13th WOW! Coldest April day I’ve ever recorded was 45/33 in 2008.

Assuming no further warming, today's 44/32 spread ties the record for all time coldest April day at KSEA! Wow!!!

Even crazier, that record of 38°F was set on the fourth of the month in 1975, whereas today's was set on the 13th! This is beyond record breaking, this is literally tying all time cold figures for this time of year.

Just made the trip from Oly to home after watching our nephew become a fully-indoctrinated WSP trooper.

Hit four different biblical hailstorms along the way, one of which in Kelso was sending people in all directions, but primarily into the median barrier.
