June 2016 Observation and Model Discussion for the Pacific Northwest

You go a little overboard in your devotion to Phil. Just saying.

No devotion. Anyone with a working sarcasm detector would've agreed with me on that one.

I have an excellent sarcasm detector.   And its not just you.

I could say its June 11th right now and if someone disagrees he will like the post and then cheer them on.

Klamath Falls was 28 degrees for a low this morning. This breaks the previous record of 29 set on 06/11/2008.

Your blind devotion to anyone debating me and your hatred of me is sort of cult-like.

You can think what you'd like of me, as I've said before I talk with Phil outside of this forum all the time and have a lot of respect for the dude. You'll never hear me saying that about you

There were only 2 other lows in June in the 20's since I moved to Klamath Falls. 06/03/2011 had 29 and 06/08/2011 had 29. A handful of lows in June were 30 and 31 but it doesn't often get colder than that at the start of meteorological summer. This makes my latest 20's so far in this area. Though my latest sub-freezing low was 30 on 06/18/2014.

Now to add this to my signature.. :P

Heading to Napa and the Redwoods later this week after school is done.   Road trip.     Can't wait to get a look at the desert wasteland around Eugene.  :)

Sounds like a cool trip. Will you be taking the cutoff (199) between Grants Pass and Crescent City? I love that route.

It's a nice alternative to the 5. Crosses the Siskiyous through some pretty scenic country, goes by Oregon Caves, then you come down to 101 right into the Redwoods.

Sounds awesome.    Probably better than staying on 5.

He's disagreed with me plenty of times. He timed the NPAC pattern change to a higher degree of accuracy than I did. I was too slow.

I've had a slow bias all year, actually. Forcing has been cycling faster than I've been predicting. Quite irritating considering I don't know why it's happening.

Hopefully it doesn't get to chilly this evening. I can have light frost this time of year, but given the recent warm weather my tomatoes have been putting on robust growth!

39 for a low this morning. +11 from yesterday's low.

This time Klamath Co. wasn't the coldest County in Oregon... how unfortunate.  ;)

40.8 here in Battle Ground for a low.

I didn't think we would be this close to each other for low temps!

Record warm month looking less likely.

Yeah that's quite apparent before mid month. Although this could be one very very diverse June. We got touches of many Junes all thrown in together. ;) It's like 2015, 2012, and 2008 sort of clash as one month. And models show another warm up late month. Possibly a few heavy rain days in between.

Many places should be within a degree or two of normal a week from now. Last 10 days of the month may be warmer than normal, but very unlikely the anomalies approach the first 10 days of the month.
