Gradient Keeper
ONI for ASO(August-September-October) has cooled now at -0.4c. Comparing to last year we were at -0.7c, but important to note last years weak Nina had peaked at -0.7c by mid-late September and leveled off with tri-monthly values remaining at -0.7c through mid December. This Winter it appears the weak Nina will peak from mid December to late January.

Brian_in_Leavenworth
I think during an actual event that it would be a good idea to have a separate topic by region. Or to have separate topics by events, like "Portland (or Seattle) snowstorm December 15th, 2018". But I like having one main topic to get the big picture until something happens. Unless we want to have Oregon/Washington separate topics by observed weather, but still have the main monthly topic for the big picture.
Timmy
I understand the logic but I don't see it working. I for one want to read everyone's thoughts on events that go on no matter where they are. We hear about hurricanes on here that are a couple thousand miles away so I don't see any harm in hearing other people's excitement about a snowstorm that may have hit Seattle instead of where I live. I'm usually really cold in the winter but lack the precip to make a good storm exciting. Portland is usually too warm for the snow but has ample precip, it's where we live. D**n Pacific Ocean!!!!
