The Christmas Eve snowstorm from last night is now a Saturday evening into Sunday morning rain event.    Its moving so fast that it might be sunny again by Christmas.   That system has trended east by about 800 miles in the last 3 days and is still speeding up in the models despite being 3 days away.

The EURO will follow suit. I do remember the GEM was spitting out crazy snow totals last February. that worked out pretty good for us =)

The NAM MM5 shows the Central and North Puget Sound getting a lot of snow this weekend.  I'm skeptical to say the least.

 

The same model that showed most of Vancouver Island roasting with this last system? It was right for about the 0.1% of the island that makes up Victoria proper.

This is starting to look promising now. Hopefully the warm nose takes a while to come up from the south and the east winds fight it off so we can stay in snow for several hours before changing over to sleet.

Amazing thing about the GEM track is that it never turns to rain up here... it snows until it moves out and then cold air comes in.
