After nearly 55 years, I still love to do that. My wife thinks I'm nuts.

My son got the 'snow under the lights' obsession from me.

I put a floodlight on the garage for mostly this purpose.

I ended up with exactly 2 inches.  I'll take it!  Going to get really cold later if it clears out which looks pretty likely.

I'm very unsure about Friday.  Now the ECMWF shows Friday night may have a better shot in the cold / unstable air behind the front.

1" total tonight, takes me to 5.5" for the season. Wonder if it's possible I can get to 10" with the chances we have coming up Friday-Monday.

Looks like that's it for Victoria. Ended up with around 4", which more than doubles the season total. Now it's cooling down quickly behind it. This is the best looking Fraser outflow we've had since early last February and this one will make it further south.

 

Goes to show that having the cold already in place over the interior of BC is quite important.  I learned a big lesson about that with the Sunday event.

All good here.   But I am downright thrilled at the prospect of having some nice weather at home.   

 

Now I am sure the 12Z ECMWF run will go in a totally different direction.

Another d-band about to move through

So far 3.25 inches on everything but roads. About 1 inch on road surfaces. Took forever to start sticking to roads. Currently still 32.5F with the back edge of the current band about to pass. Radar is filling in to the west but not sure if that hits the PDX metro or if it slides too far south. 

 

Regardless of what happens, this event has been way better than yesterday.  Snow for the guys up north in the sound and I finally got 1+ inch.

NWS tweeted out up to 1" could fall in 30-45 minutes with the current band over Portland. Radar showing heaviest returns right over downtown now.

My street was mostly wet until about 20 minutes ago, when it really started dumping. Everything quickly getting caked now.

Northern skagit has literally seen less than 1/2" combined this whole winter...

 

I don't know...with the 0.6" in November and the generous 0.3" today we're rapidly approaching the 1" barrier for the season!

 

That's better than 4 out of the last 10 years...

Dynamics definitely better in Oregon with this. Might be about done for us up here aside from some light deformation.

Zaffino reporting 2"/hr snowfall rate downtown. Probably same at PDX judging that 0.04" liquid equivalent just fell in 14 minutes.

Salem didn't do well. Judging by cams 1/2" to 1" maybe. Wet roads.

 

Just drove back from Eugene. Albany to home was insane. Probably around 3" at least between Jefferson and Stayton. 

 

Looks like Eugene is doing well right now.

You did really well. I have maybe 1" new here. Still pretty though, and combined with what I still had on the ground it is closer to 2".

 

Would be nice if that stuff  over Washington wrapped back around overnight.

Down to 28 here now.  Going to be very icy in the morning.

Just took a measurement. 2" accumulated here in one hour on flat surfaces. The narrow surfaces like tops of fences have about 2.5", but I'm sure that's due to extra adhesiveness with those big fluffy flakes. 

 

Looks beautiful out there, just like last night! Getting spoiled.
